INSTITUTO DAVÓ

All on Six - All on Four

This technique is used for upper or lower jaw rehabilitation when no serious bone reabsorption has yet been detected.

Benefits of the Operation

It is reliably accepted that rehabilitation with implants in patients who have no teeth improves quality of life in all three functional, psychological and social areas.

They are minimally invasive techniques, which can be performed even without needing to cut the gum and without pain (guided surgery), as they are also fast, safe and predictable. Numerous scientific studies corroborate that the success rate is almost 100%. What's more, it has been documented that the use of immediate function techniques increases therapeutic acceptance and minimises post-surgical discomfort for patients.

Medical-technical description

In a total rehabilitation, we can install six maxillary and four jaw (mandibular) implants. This allows us to manufacture fixed prostheses in the first 24 hours after the surgery.

Some months after the surgery, the patient can have the final prosthesis. This is also a fixed prosthesis, made-to-measure for the patient using better quality materials for a superior appearance.

About the operation

The surgery is performed in the operating theatre under general anaesthetic and in the majority of cases takes approximately two hours. The patient stays in hospital for at least one day.

Between 24 and 48 hours after the surgery, the patient is fitted with a fixed provisional prosthesis and the patient can now enjoy having fixed teeth.

Before the operation

  • The patient must have a dental panoramic X-ray (orthopantomogram) and a CAT scan of the zygoma (as far as the orbit) so that a suitable diagnosis can be made.
  • The patient has a blood test, chest X-ray and electrocardiogram.
  • The patient is admitted to hospital at eight o'clock in the morning and must therefore not eat or drink anything for eight hours before the surgery.
  • You must remove all metal objects during the operation (rings, bracelets, earrings, body piercings, etc).

Post-operative care

  • For the first few days after the operation you may have some discomfort or swelling in the face, which will disappear when you take the medicine prescribed by the surgeon in two to three days.
  • You may also notice some slight bleeding and a low fever, which will also disappear quickly.
  • For the first 24 hours you must only eat soft, cold food, You must not rinse your mouth or clean your teeth and you must apply ice wrapped in cloths to your face.
  • After the first 24 hours you must rinse your mouth with water and salt for ten days, eat a diet you can tolerate, apply dry heat to the swollen area and once you are brushing your teeth normally, use BEXIDENT POST.
